Why I Started This Blog: From Stethoscopes to Stroller Rides
Welcome to my little corner of the internet! As someone who has transitioned from doctor’s rounds to full-time diaper changes, I wanted to share my journey of navigating the demanding role of a mom after stepping away from my career in healthcare.
Life in Two Worlds
Picture this: one moment, I’m used to explaining complex medical diagnoses to patients, and the next, I’m soothing my 5-month-old baby during a teething episode. My days are a medley of baby giggles and diaper changes, bedtime stories and tummy time. It’s a whirlwind, but it’s my beautiful chaos.
I’ve found that the skills I’ve honed as a doctor—like patience, empathy, and quick decision-making—translate surprisingly well into motherhood. And vice versa! Trust me, nothing builds resilience like managing a sleep-deprived infant.
Why This Blog?
I started this blog because, during my journey into motherhood, I had countless questions—some that felt downright silly. After I became a mom, I noticed a lot of my friends turning to me with similar questions. That’s when I realized the value of sharing experiences and building a supportive community.
Here, you’ll find:
- Parenting tales: The good, the messy, and the downright hilarious.
- Health tips: Practical advice from a doctor who’s been there (and probably Googled it, too).
- Motherhood musings: Thoughts on navigating this new chapter of life.
- Heartfelt reflections: Life lessons from both the hospital floor and the playroom rug.
What I’ve Learned So Far
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that perfection is overrated. Some days I feel like Superwoman, and other days I’m just trying to survive until bedtime (mine and the baby’s). And that’s okay! It’s all part of the journey.
Another takeaway? Never underestimate the power of community. The support and advice I’ve received from fellow moms and friends have been invaluable. Through this blog, I hope to create a space where we can share tips, laughs, and maybe even the occasional vent session.
